As I’m sure you are already aware the season is upon us and this year we have three league sides; seeing for the first time competitive cricket on a Sunday as well as Saturdays.

This is particularly exciting as we are looking for every side to have a round mix of up-and-coming young players showing the older and average at best players how the game really should be played and enjoyed.

This weekend however, we only have 1st and 2nd XI fixtures on Saturday. Currently we are a bit short of players which makes the job of each Captain particularly challenging. The Captains, the Committee and I would all be very grateful if you could each get in touch with Ollie, Alex and David on a regular basis to inform them of your availability.

Most of you will be very aware of the volume of work required to run a successful club and successful teams. Each week the ground needs to be prepared, teas need to be made, the bar needs to be stocked and manned, runs and wickets need to be scored and taken. All of which can only be done with the support of every club member.

I would also like to take this opportunity to highlight some of the social events planned for this year. As with the weekend fixtures, these events take a great deal of organisation and we are exceptionally lucky to have the commitment of non-playing members who get these running for everyone to enjoy.
