Kennington CC 2nd XI have won the Kent Regional Cricket League Division 1C East!

Needing to win their last two League games and obtain the 40 points to win Division 1C East Kennington 2nds followed up last weeks win over Littlebourne by defeating an inexperienced Folkestone 4th XI last Saturday. With 5 bowlers sharing the wickets Folkestone were reduced to 48 all out with a key moment being the direct hit run-out of the Folkestone captain – John Niewoudt – by Kennington’s Peter Moss.

Some good bowling and fielding by Folkestone saw Kennington reduced to 25 for 4 but with rain threatening a partnership of 26 by Rob Beale (17no) and Kieran Nash (6no) saw Kennington home enabling them to win the title by 1 point.
